Mounjaro is administered as a subcutaneous injection (under the skin) using a pre-filled pen. Each pen contains one fixed dose.
Suitable injection sites:
• Front of the thigh
• Abdomen (at least 5 cm from the navel)
• Upper arm (if administered by another person)
Rotate the injection site with each dose. Do not inject into a vein or muscle.
Step-by-step instructions:
1. Remove the pen cap and check the solution is clear and colourless
2. Place the pen flat against the skin at the chosen injection site
3. Press and hold the injection button until you hear two clicks
4. Hold the pen in place for at least 5 to 10 seconds
5. Remove the pen and dispose of it safely in a sharps container
Missed dose: administer as soon as possible within 4 days. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose and continue with your next scheduled injection. Never double the dose.
